The Drive Industry continues to do well despite less than stellar news on the economic front. EMA enjoyed an excellent first quarter and anticipates continued business growth throughout 2008. We've seen good growth and opportunities in HVAC Drives, in industrial projects, including PLC and HMI projects, and large horsepower and medium voltage drives. In addition our field service and shop repair business remains strong. Our AC Drive training classes continue to sell out, and we're adding more cities during 2008. We appreciate our many customers for their loyalty and continued business. We know that it's incumbent upon us to earn your business each and every time you choose to use us.
Yaskawa became the first drive company to sell 10 million drives! The company put this billboard near Milwaukee to celebrate. SSD Drives Division of Parker Hannifin Corporation has received ISO 9001:2000 certification at their Charlotte, NC plant. The Danfoss Group plans an aggressive foray into the wind power industry. Their initial efforts will be focused on Denmark and Germany. Baldor Electric Company has joined Fortune magazine’s elite "Fortune 1000". The list is a compilation of the largest U.S. industrial corporations ranked by sales volume. Baldor’s 2007 sales of $1.8 billion placed Baldor in the 935th position. WEG has announced a new line of permanent magnet synchronous motors and specially developed CWF-09 variable speed drive frequency inverters.
