EMA celebrates 25 years in business

Founded by a Service Engineer

EMA began in 1990 under humble circumstances. EMA founder Eddie Mayfield provided repair services on electronic motor drives from his home for a small group of clients who came to trust him well.

Unmatched Service and Satisfaction

During these two decades of doing business, EMA has earned a strong reputation in the industry from peers, partner companies, and customers. In fact, EMA boasts one of the highest satisfaction rates in the industry with over 98% of all customers reporting that they are “highly satisfied” with their experience with EMA.  EMA is especially known for being both able and willing to tackle tough repair and integration projects that prevent customers from having to spend many times more money on new parts and systems.

EMA provides products and services to customers ranging from the small and local to the large and multi-national. If you google “medium voltage vfd” for instance, you’ll find that EMA is very active and noted in this field. You’ll find similar results if you do national searches for other services and equipment supplied by EMA.  On any given day, you’ll find EMA personnel on off shore oil platforms, industrial plants, pipelines, colleges and universities, water and waste water facilities, and large commercial buildings.

EMA has done work with large universities such as the University of Georgia, Ithaca College,  Cornell and large public school systems.  Several of the largest property management firms  have hired EMA including Cousin’s Properties, CB Richard Ellis, Jones Lange Lasalle, and Childress Klein.  EMA regularly works on everything from large tunneling machines, to high horsepower compressors,  to small pump and air handler systems.

In addition, EMA serves a wide variety of other large companies including Bank of America, Trane Heating and Air,  Kindermorgan, Trans Montaigne, The Rock-Tenn Company,  Gerdau-Ameristeel, Nucor Steel, and many others.  EMA works with many drive manufacturers including Schneider Electric, WEG, Yaskawa, Lti Servos, Hitachi, Ansaldo, Toshiba, Motortronics, and many others.

At the root of EMA’s business is the commitment to a core set of values that every employee must sign on to when hired and which govern every aspect of how the company does business.
